Emotions don't solve emotional problems. So park your emotions aside while you read this.
FEAR is one of the greatest elements that have know to hold people back from achieving great results. Most people get sweaty when they even imagine of what they fear most. Some spend hundreds and thousands of dollars to get professionals to help them overcome their greatest fears. One such, is the FEAR of Death. Closely associated with the fear of the Unknown. It is so associated coz people don't know or are not certain what would happen when one dies. This fear has consumed most brilliant minds around the world.
We accept and agree that those who overcome their fears are most courageous and most daring and we respect them and make them our idols. Specially our special forces commandos. Who play with death on a daily basis or those who diffuse IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices).
But yet, when you look at those who choose to walk into this fear and kill themselves, we wonder how depressed they must have been. We immediately begin to sympathize with them and many of those who are going thru such depression. We share their sad stories and tell those watching our social media channels that #WeAreListening.
I for some reason do not agree with sympathizing with such morons (above the legal age of 18, as they are legally in a position to think for themselves) who end their lives. Yes I call them morons. And I do so coz I can prove to anyone who is thinking to end their life that they will regret their decision when they are half way in the air. As Jaggi Sadhguru says, hold your breath for a min and you'll have the body tell you to take a walk as it wants to live. Your mind that is all determined to end this so called misserable life ain't strong enough to get you to hold your hand strong while you choke yourself.
What really is SUICIDE ?
It is a process of finding a leverage that can help people kill themselves coz people fuckin don't have the balls to do it themselves. They don't have the balls to squeeze their own throat - so they use a rope and fan. Or they jump of a building but realize the mistake when they are half way and they don't even live to tell the change in decision midair.
There are no challenges in this world that cannot be defeated by a determined mind that lives in the gratitude of the gift of life it has been given. If you think it is easier said than done then you are an idiot coz there is nothing easy about life or the challenges it has to offer. The word EASY must not be used with reference to life in the first place. What is easy is jumping off the roof. And who would do such a thing ?
An Uneducated Mind
Our education system is producing some great academic minds but has failed miserably to produce one mind that is free from FEAR. Fear of Failure, Fear of Rejection, Fear of Social Outcast etc. With our cities racing to compete as suicide capitals in the world, we have failed to recognize the failure of our education system.
It takes a few very critical life skills to help people fight the challenges in their life. In the last 8yrs as a life coach, I'm yet to hear any of my student try kill themselves. I don't boast of this feat but it gives me more confidence that the life skills I have been sharing with the youth have powered them.
In the name of Life Skills, most institutions today impart nonsense. Most trainers hired to instruct life skills are not even clear of what must be taught and what must be self realized within a student. We constantly tell our youth - LIFE IS HARD. And we teach them SOFT SKILLS that make them SOFT TARGETS of life's many challenges.
Solution to the Suicide Spree
1. Stop writing articles about what one was going thru that forced him/her to self terminate. There is no difference between them and suicide bombers. One leaves a vacuum in their own family and suicide bombers leave vacuum in many families.
2. Start talking about life's challenges and how many great men have countered them. The media should share more inspirational stories of ordinary people who achieved extra ordinary feats. We need more positivity in our media.
3. Start discussing issues at the dining table. No one is big or old enough to handle their own life's challenges. Those who choose to self terminate do so as they are mentally weak and have none to share their challenges with. Big failure for parents and friends.
4. Take life skills seriously. These can not just save your life but help you succeed.
5. Create a whatsapp group of 5 close friends. And discuss everything that is bothering you. Sometimes when we help a friend get solution of an issue it builds our confidence of being able to solve our own challenges. Exactly what I did a few decades back when I was going thru massive depression and had self termination ideas.
6. Discredit those who self terminate. They are dead anyways and need no sympathy. But by doing so you are sending a strong message to those considering this path that - hey we don't give a shit to you if you do something silly. We will stand by you if you need help and we will help you destroy your challenges.
If you are fuming with anger on my choice of words, then you have FAILED to comply to the first line of this post. Go back, park your emotions and read this again.
My Vision
I want to see youth physically, mentally, emotionally, financially and spiritually strong. I am willing to work with those who wish to achieve this milestone for themselves and their communities. Those colleges who are into the business of education and don't care about the quality of education they give their students can go fly a kite. I'm not interested in their commercials or activities.
The youth of this nation has the power to make India a great nation again. We just need to help them train in some tactical life skills that will make them unbelievable warriors.
I feel sad for the family of Arjun and pray for strength. But I am not willing to sympathize with those who leave their families in a void to deal with.
Plz share this perspective if it made any sense to you. Arjun couldn't have achieved success without a Krishna. He was his Life Skills Instructor.
You go find yours !
Cheers !
